Through engaging physical exercise sessions and dedicated mental health practices, we foster an embodied understanding of one's place in the ecological world. Our outdoor experiences, including guided hikes on the island, offer participants a unique opportunity to connect with nature and promote overall well-being. In addition, our workshops on healthy nutrition by providing valuable insights into nutritious choices, enable individuals to make informed decisions about their well-being. Furthermore, our coaching sessions offer personalized care to participants, creating a supportive environment where they can prioritize their health. We hope that this personalized care will be reciprocated within their temporary community, fostering a ripple effect of well-being that extends beyond individual participants. Through these initiatives, we actively contribute to the promotion of good health and well-being in line with Sustainable Development Goal No. 3.
At Artichaut, we are dedicated to advancing Sustainable Development Goal No. 4, Quality Education. Our mission involves empowering marginalized individuals by actively engaging them in unique learning journeys that overcome financial barriers.
Central to our pedagogy is the belief that every individual harbors untapped talents, symbolized by the dolphin—a creature renowned for intelligence and agility. We employ Agile learning principles to foster participants' agency and responsibility, incorporating collective governance for efficient community living.
Our projects integrate diverse knowledge domains through an ecopoethical approach, covering:
-
Art: Creative processes in theater, music, painting, movie-making, and dance.
-
Permaculture and Eco Construction: Hands-on experiences in sustainable practices through workshops facilitated by experts.
-
Nutrition and Health: Emphasizing well-being through dedicated courses and practical experimentation.
-
Outdoor Physical Activity and Natural Discovery: Immersive activities like hiking and Dolphinian Swim®, encouraging a connection with nature.
Through these approaches, Artichaut significantly contributes to Quality Education, providing an inclusive and innovative learning environment that fosters the holistic development of each participant.
Artichaut actively contributes to Sustainable Development Goal No. 10, Reduced Inequalities, by empowering marginalized individuals through the 'Chaux Must Go On' journey. Participants, including 8 low-skilled individuals, 5 experiencing midlife transitions, 4 dealing with health issues, and 3 impacted by the pandemic, receive support in regaining self-confidence, developing autonomy, and reconnecting with nature. Supported by the Erasmus+ program and local partners, Artichaut's project provides high added value to those with fewer opportunities. In doing so, Artichaut plays a key role in reducing inequalities and fostering inclusive learning experiences.
Artichaut is dedicated to fostering eco-consciousness through workshops and performances, focusing on holistic ecological literacy. Our mission involves reflecting on individual environmental impact, promoting sustainable work and lifestyles, and aligning human growth with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Given the urgent climate crisis, our learners highlight the need for greener living post-lockdown. Drawing inspiration from the dolphin's symbolism of coexistence with nature, our mobility programs aim to restore balance. We transport participants to naturally beautiful destinations, emphasizing nature recharge, ecological awareness in professional meetings, and fostering eco-friendly behaviors. Our mobilities prioritize lower-carbon transport and venues promoting voluntary simplicity (zero plastic, local organic food). Activities include hiking, dolphin swimming, and eco-construction workshops, cultivating an understanding of ecosystems and care for nature. Participants interact with sustainability leaders like partners at Amorgos Botanical Garden, Romain Cavillon of the Northern Lights agroforestry project, and local associations, gaining insights into eco-construction, permaculture, and ecological nutrition through workshops with specialists like Theodosia Stathi and Olivia Paranos.
Inspired by the dolphin's symbolism for harmonious coexistence with nature, our mobilities are designed to instill deep reverence for the aquatic realm. Learning processes extend beyond traditional methods to include awe-inspiring activities like dolphin and mermaid swimming sessions as well as free diving practice. In these activities participants not only become first hand witnesses to the beauty and fragility of marine ecosystems, they aloso foster a deep appreciation for underwater biodiversity and the delicate balance that sustains life below the surface. By encouraging respect for underwater ecosystems and marine creatures, practitioners play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of environmental stewardship. This is coupled by aligning with the objectives of Sustainable Development Goal No. 14. This is coupled with our focus on holistic ecological literacy, further explained below in our contribution to Sustainable Development Goal No. 13 ‘Climate Action’

Artichaut actively advances Sustainable Development Goal No. 17, Partnerships for the Goals, through its participation in the Erasmus+ program. As a developing organization, Artichaut focuses on building capacity for high-quality mobility projects, acquiring visibility, and establishing credibility. Key collaborations include the Municipality of Amorgos, endorsing our program at the Katapola Municipal Camping, and partners like the Botanical Garden, Agni Center, and Mitato of Amorgos, contributing cultural and aesthetic value to our initiative. Support from media outlets (including press and television broadcasts) and outputs (such as the videos and film we produce) further amplify our project's impact. The Erasmus program, instrumental in refining our project, aligning with European objectives, and providing crucial funding, enables us to offer valuable services to individuals with fewer opportunities, showcasing the effectiveness of partnerships in achieving common goals.
